About

The Network on Emerging Threats (NET) envisions a U.S. national security community that takes appropriate action against the most dangerous emerging threats.

Today we face unprecedented risks, with consequences that could drastically destabilize the current security order. Catastrophic biological risks, destabilizing artificial intelligence, modern nuclear war, and great power competition are some of the biggest threats we face. To address them, our approach to security must adapt.

Learn about the emerging threats.

NET started in 2018 to support a select group of students, researchers, and practitioners who aim to be a part of this vision. Members aim to use their careers to address these threats, and NET helps enable them to reason about and implement the policies and projects of greatest consequence. To that end, NET provides its members with opportunities for individual engagement, curated events, and career resources which are tailored to their needs. These benefits are available at no cost thanks to generous donor support.
